This Privacy Policy explains how Candle Stuff (https://candle-stuff.hostsite.info, “Candle Stuff”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit this site. Candle Stuff is run by the owner of the NicheStuff online store (https://nichestuff.shop/).
What we collect
Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and website you enter in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see whether you use it. Gravatar’s policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may be shown next to it.
Contact and subscriptions. If you send a message through our contact form or subscribe to email updates, we collect the details you enter (such as your name and email address) and use them only to reply to you or send the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.
Media. If you upload images to the site, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images on the site.
Cookies
If you comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies for your convenience. These last one year. Logged-in users receive login and screen-preference cookies. Embedded content and sharing features from other sites may set their own cookies.
Services we use
Jetpack (Automattic) provides site statistics, security, image delivery, subscriber emails and social sharing. It may collect your IP address, browser and device information, and pages viewed. See https://automattic.com/privacy/.
NicheStuff store (Shopify). Some articles link to products at https://nichestuff.shop/. When you follow those links you leave this site, and the store’s own privacy policy applies to anything you do there, including orders and payment. Links may include campaign tags (such as utm_source=candle-stuff) so we can see which articles lead to store visits.
Embedded content. Articles may include content from other sites, such as videos or images. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with the embedded content.
How long we keep data
Comments and their metadata are kept until deleted. Contact messages and subscriber details are kept as long as needed to answer you or send the updates you requested. Registered users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time, except for the username.
Your rights
You can ask for an export of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it, using the contact form on this site. This does not cover data we must keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
